Flee From Me Keepers Of The Gloom

- "The Rain Song" by Led Zeppelin, from the album Houses Of The Holy, 1973

How can I help you with gratitude? My highly coveted subscribers who I would walk to the ends of the earth for?

Simple.

Start writing.

In the short amount of time I’ve been writing this newsletter, I’ve noticed that it has helped me keep my head on straight. I don’t have a way of quantifying it, but it has helped a lot. Things that have happened as of late (not entirely due to writing):

A good friend of mine is no longer on the hook for something and can continue living his life, ending 8 years of torment.

My brother finally decided to accept therapy to end his pattern of self destruction and is doing very well, a complete 180 in a month.

Our financial picture has improved and gives us hope for the immediate future.

My son with autism is more and more showing signs of development and I catch myself wondering how on earth I became the father of such an awesome kid.

I’ve lost weight due to walking 9000 steps on average per day.

At first, I was hesitant to start this, with the only. spark of optimism that this would mean anything to any of you being that I was told in high school that I was a good writer. Some of you may remember how I got this started, and you guys have helped keep me accountable. When I sit down in front of the keyboard, the words just flow. It’s very cathartic.

I want you to try it. And who knows, maybe you’ll kick more ass than I ever could.

I am not here to sell you anything. Well, maybe down the road, but you’ll never be forced to buy anything. I have aspirations to grow this to a six figure subscriber count.

But I want you to do better than me. I’ll subscribe to your newsletter. But if you don’t want to, you don’t have to.

It’s been a free way to ease the mental cacophony that goes on between my ears. From a dissonant EDM concert to a 4/4 Ionian string quartet piece.

What do you want to write about? The Superb Owl? Health? Whatever you’re a fan of? Whatever you collect? How you see the trajectory of your industry given your experience?

Share it all. Share it on LinkedIn. Bluesky. Or anywhere else you want to shout it out loud from.

Give in to the human condition. To share with those around you.

You got something to write.
